Pack counting in cases and multipacks: not one short

An incomplete case or multipack reaches the customer's warehouse and turns into a complaint, a credit note and a poor image. Machine vision counts the units in every group before it is closed and rejects any that don't tally.

What it does

Counts every group before it is closed

The camera sees the case, tray or multipack before closing or shrink-wrapping and counts the units. If one is missing, or there is one too many, the group is rejected and a photo of the fault is kept. It also records when it happens, so the cause can be traced in the grouping machine.

Not a single six-pack with five

Shrink-wrapped multipacks of 6. The customer was receiving complaints from the market about incomplete packs; with vision counting before shrink-wrapping, they have disappeared.

End-of-line data working for you

The same system that counts tells you how much was produced, when the line stopped and why, with rejects marked on the timeline. With that data you tackle the costliest problems first.

FAQ

What we're often asked

Does it work with shrink film or closed cases?

We count before shrink-wrapping or closing, when the units are clearly visible. If your line doesn't leave that gap, we look into it during the site visit.

Does it work for any grouping format?

Yes: each format (6, 12, 24 units, trays, layers) has its own recipe, and a format changeover means loading another recipe.

What happens to an incomplete group?

It is rejected from the line with its photo and the time is logged, so the cause can be traced in the grouping machine.

Do I need to change my grouping machine?

No. The camera and the rejector are integrated with your existing line and communicate with your PLC.
