See where your line loses output, machine by machine
A carton line with seven machines, live. Each machine takes the colour of its status, and the cockpit tells you at every moment which machine is stopping the line, for how long and what it costs in OEE. Trigger a stop, speed up time and watch it spread.
What you are looking at
A line cockpit, like the one your plant receives
- Synoptic of seven machines: filler, buffer, capper with the Sentinel camera, case packer, shrink wrapper, handle applicator and palletiser. Each with its beacon: running, own stop, starved, blocked or planned stop.
- The culprit of every stop: with photocells between machines, without asking the machines for signals, you know which machine stops, for how long and which one caused the line stoppage.
- Trigger a stop on any machine and watch, live, the blockage backwards, the starvation forwards and the buffer absorbing it. Time runs at ×1, ×10 or ×60.
- The daily efficiency-killers report: AI commentary, OEE waterfall (ISO 22400-2), Pareto of line minutes lost per culprit machine, micro-stops versus stops, hourly map and packs lost.
FAQ
Answers to the most common questions
Is this real data from a plant?
No. It is a demonstration with simulated data from a fictitious line. On your line, the cockpit shows your machines and your real data.
What is the difference between a micro-stop and a stop?
A micro-stop is a stoppage of 10 seconds to 2 minutes; a stop lasts 2 minutes or more. Micro-stops are rarely recorded, but added up they are often among the biggest losses on a line.
How do you know which machine is to blame?
With photocells between machines: if a machine stops with product in front and space behind, the stop is its own; if it is waiting for product or has no space, it is suffering another machine's stop. So every lost minute is assigned to the machine that caused it.
Do I need to change my machines or my PLC?
No. It is installed on the line you already have, with simple sensors and the Sentinel camera, without touching the machines' programs.
